This summer, Ronald McDonald House Charities UK will hold its first ever Sky Dive weekend to raise money to provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with children in hospital.
Taking place on Saturday 19 June and Sunday 20 June at six jump sites across the UK, the sky dive will see teams of charity supporters jumping from over 10,000 feet in the name of charity. Thrill- seekers can take the leap from jump sites in St Andrews, Lancaster, Swansea, Northampton, Salisbury and Kent over both days.
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK has 11 Houses across the UK situated in or just minutes away from partnered NHS hospitals. The Houses offer families a place to eat, rest and recharge so they can support their seriously ill children undergoing treatment, and maintain a degree of normal family life by staying close to them.
Of the event, Vanessa Simmons, National Community Fundraising Manager at Ronald McDonald House Charities UK said: “We are really excited to be running this event and we encourage everyone to take on this challenge to support families when they need us most. Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on our ability to raise funds over the last year and we hope as many people as possible will join us across the country to take part.”
To book your place you will need to pay a £50 deposit and then raise a minimum £400 in sponsorship. For further information about or to register for the Sky Dive weekend, visit www.rmhc.org.uk/event/skydive/.
