Supporting the YMCA Milton Keynes to make a difference

Getting involved with events is something we always pride ourselves on to not only support our young people, but also encourage members of the community to get involved and contribute towards a great cause. In February, we were invited by the Rotary Club to compete within the Milton Keynes Swimathon as one of the mayors chosen charities. With a great turnout, our team thoroughly enjoyed it which always leads us to pursue future events, where we can challenge ourselves to try new activities and skills.

External support is always a great way for the local community to get involved supporting our respectable cause. Located in Milton Keynes, we are amongst a variety of charities and groups which require the community’s support through any means. Whether it be volunteering for an hour to providing donations, we are always eager to offer these opportunities to individuals.

Supporting a charity can often be downplayed, where some of the public are reluctant to get involved assuming that we solely want monetary donations. With the YMCA we challenge this, because your support doesn’t just go towards the organisation, but it extends into improving the community. For instance, providing one of our residents with a week’s work experience provides them with the skills, confidence and understanding of how to adopt a work-mindset which encourages them to succeed and contribute within the community. We should never ignore monetary support, but we are eager for individuals to provide any support they can to the YMCA.

We offer a variety of fun, memorable opportunities for individuals to get involved with. Here the community can support the lives of young people, whilst also enjoying themselves in a marathon, swimathon etc. Get involved now by emailing: [email protected] or call: 01908 295 600.
