Staffordshire Moorlands based business finance expert Tom Wilkinson has been named in an index of the most influential people in the consumer and commercial credit industry.
The 2023 Credit 500 has been announced by Credit Strategy.
Tom, Managing Director of Beta Commercial Finance, was invited to a special event in the Houses of Parliament where this year’s index of members was unveiled.
Beta Commercial Finance was founded by Tom six years ago.
Tom said: “ It’s an honour to be named as a member of the Credit 500 index 2023. It’s an exclusive index of executives and senior professionals working across consumer and commercial credit. While I’m the focus here, I see my nomination as recognition for our team of five financial specialists at Beta.”
Based in Tom’s home village of Alton, Beta CF has built a strong reputation as a go to commercial finance broker, helping many companies in Staffordshire and beyond to thrive.
Tom is a former business banker. He founded Beta in 2017 to support companies needing finance to grow. He said: “In the past, many company directors would have had a regular relationship with a business bank manager, perhaps based at their local branch. That’s rare in 2023 and we believe Beta CF fills that gap, with the added advantage of being able to search the whole of the market and find solutions from more than one lender.
The nomination came as a surprise to Tom who explained “it’s an anonymous process, followed by research from Credit 500 to ensure due diligence. I don’t know who nominated me, but I’d like to thank them. Along with the Parliamentary reception, membership of the Credit 500 gives members an opportunity to attend seminars and work with influencers across the lending spectrum.
Credit Strategy say the Credit 500 is based upon industry nominations that show members can demonstrate influence in their organisation or profession and best practice; are recognised for their work through award programmes; help to educate their peers and are advocates, promoting their profession.
Nominations are finalised by the Credit Strategy editorial team in conjunction with a board of trusted advisors.
