Spotlight on The Windmill Suffolk

The Windmill

Originally built in 1891, the recently converted Windmill has been lovingly restored over a 2 year period by owners Steve and Natalie Roberts into lavish and luxurious adults- only holiday accommodation.

Wishing to be sympathetic to both the original heritage of the building as a working mill and to ensure the final build would appeal to the modern tourist wanting a one of a kind haven they have created a relaxing retreat in a contemporary and unique building.

Nestled in the beautiful countryside, just 2 miles from historic Lavenham and within easy reach of what Suffolk and the picturesque surrounding counties of Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire have to offer, The Windmill Suffolk is equally ideal as a romantic hideaway for two or for fun filled time off with friends.

Since opening The Windmill has built a reputation for luxury breaks and demand for celebrations including Honeymoons, Minimoons, Anniversaries and Birthdays has been high.

With the perfect marriage of such gorgeous and luxurious interior design in such a unique building it is easy to see why!

The Windmill Suffolk has been specifically designed for grown- ups who love the finer things in life!  With a coffee machine in the kitchen diner, a wine fridge on the top floor, hairdryers in both bedrooms, free WIFI and SKY on the oversized curved TV all mod cons have been thought of.

Natalie and Steve are clearly well travelled and have gone out of their way to ensure no detail has been missed for guests at The Windmill. “Our experiences of staying in 5-star accommodation around the world has given us so much inspiration and lots of ideas of what we wanted to achieve in The Windmill” says Natalie. “Even small details like full length mirrors and wardrobes tall enough for full length dresses in the bedrooms are important. Every room apart from the bathroom has a port you can plug your I-phone or I-pad into so you can play your own music through the speaker system whilst you relax and unwind.”

All guests also receive a luxury welcome pack containing all the essentials required for breakfast and some complimentary locally produced surprise treats!

With stunning panoramic views, you can enjoy the uninterrupted sights from the comfy warmth of the top floor living space. Relax on inviting and sumptuously oversized handmade velvet sofas, piled high with plump cushions, fluffy blankets and cosy throws. In the small hours unwind and delight in the amazing and far reaching night sky views from the outside balcony on the top floor. (Perhaps with a glass or 2 of something chilled from that very handy wine fridge!)

The adults only property sleeps 4 and consists of 2 luxurious and cosy bedrooms. Bespoke handmade super king size beds, furnished with butter soft linens, cushions and velvet throws promise a blissful uninterrupted night’s sleep, making it even more tempting to enjoy an early night or a lazy morning in bed!

The magnificent marble and mosaic shell bathroom is the perfect place to pamper and preen: featuring both a freestanding oversized oval bath and a large enough for two walk in monsoon rain shower highlighting the vistas across the Suffolk countryside!

This sumptuous sanctuary comes complete with fluffy dressing gowns and slippers, super soft towels and a complimentary section of Elemis toiletries. Pure bliss!
