A brand new sporting quiz comes to Gloucester Rugby in March, with the winners lifting a trophy presented to them on stage by one of the most iconic English sportsmen of all time, Sir Geoff Hurst MBE.
The inaugural Question of Sport charity quiz and dinner is raising funds for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, and will include an exclusive Q&A with the football legend during the quiz ‘half time’.
Sir Geoff said, “I’ll be there to share some of my World Cup stories and help raise awareness for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. I hope to see others putting their football, rugby and sporting knowledge to the test to raise vital funds for this charity.
“The hospice is a place close to my heart as my daughter Claire received care there at the end of 2010.
“The care Claire and we as a family were given there was marvellous. The day to day caring and the medical side of things are all looked after for you. We didn’t have to worry. It meant we could go back to being Claire’s parents again.”
“Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is such a caring place, the team are so thoughtful and the place is very peaceful. As a family they allowed us privacy and we were allowed to be there for Claire around the clock.
“Everyone at the hospice and the care given was over and above. You couldn’t fault it.”
Taking place in the iconic 1873 Lounge on Thursday 26th March, Sir Geoff will also be joined by some of Gloucester Rugby’s first team squad, who are making an appearance to throw their weight behind the much loved Gloucestershire hospice too.

The three round interactive sporting quiz, shown on large screens using wireless keypad technology, features a range of question styles including the old favourites ‘Mystery Guest’ and ‘What happened next?’
The winners will lift the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice Question of Sport trophy, presented on stage by Sir Geoff Hurst at the end of the night.
Sponsored by plumbing, heating and electrical specialists, SW&L, guests will also enjoy a three course dinner, wine and a charity auction featuring signed 1966 World Cup Memorabilia kindly donated by Sir Geoff and other exclusive lots.
