Simmons Gainsford, part of Sumer Group, a top 12 accountancy firm, is delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Greenhough as Corporate Tax Partner, strengthening the firm’s growing tax advisory offering and reinforcing its commitment to delivering high‑quality, partner‑led support to SMEs and entrepreneurial businesses.
Kate has a strong mixed tax background, having spent the earlier part of her career in a top 50 accountancy firm. In early 2015, Kate joined an R&D firm where she developed a particular specialism in R&D tax relief. During her time there, she supported a wide range of clients, from small owner‑managed businesses to large, audited groups, helping them secure millions of pounds in tax relief.
In late 2021, Kate joined Gravita as the R&D and Corporate Tax Director. She soon went on to lead the corporate tax function, ultimately becoming Corporate Tax Partner and service line lead. Her experience spans managing large groups, advising on complex technical matters, and developing and mentoring teams, with a strong focus on collaboration, quality and consistent client delivery.
Speaking about her appointment, Kate Greenhough, Corporate Tax Partner at Simmons Gainsford, said: “I was attracted to Simmons Gainsford because of its strong reputation for high‑quality advice to SMEs and entrepreneurial businesses. I hope to bring a supportive approach, alongside a strong focus on quality, consistency and client service, helping Simmoms Gainsford continue to deliver high‑quality advice as the business grows.”
Commenting on the appointment, Anthony Rose, Head of Tax at Simmons Gainsford, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kate and confident that her extensive expertise and strategic vision will help us continue delivering exceptional tax services to our clients. Kate’s appointment marks an exciting step in the continued development of Simmons Gainsford’s tax advisory capabilities, reinforcing our commitment to supporting clients with clear, practical and commercially focused tax advice.”
