Guildford’s award-winning festival returns with their best line up yet at Merrist Wood College over Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May in aid of Treloar’s.
Saturday’s headliner features the phenomenal festival favourite Reef. Regular headliners across the UK and beyond, the Glastonbury based band released their album Glow in 1997 to universal acclaim within the industry, reaching number 1 virtually overnight. The single Place Your Hands was instantly anthemic, and embraced by Chris Evans on his shows both on radio and each week on TFI Friday.
2025 sees the band being very selective on where they perform, so it’s a genuine coup for them to appear at Shynefest. Lead singer Gary Stringer “Yeeeaaaahhh…Shynefest! Really looking forward to coming and hanging out AND rocking out on May 31st. Take it easy”.
Friday’s closing act is Bon Giovi. Formed in August of 1999 as a tribute to Bon Jovi – “the band who filled the gap between heavy metal and pop with style and ease”.. Expect to see and hear the greatest hits including Living On A Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, Wanted Dead or Alive, I’ll Be There For You. With over eighteen years UK and International touring experience as a band, building on their foundations earned individually, the boys are yet another example of Shynefest’s reach and reputation in securing the cream of the festival circuit’s acts.

Over 40 acts, including The Ibiza Band, Vince Freeman, True Deceivers, Nirvanher and a head spinning selection of DJs will be performing across 4 stages, partnering with Surrey Hills Radio and embracing a vast, diverse cross section of genres – pop, rock, metal, tributes, originals and well, you get the idea. The Certs – fresh from appearing on the soundtrack to the new Bridget Jones’ movie play on the Future Headliners stage on a line up alongside wonder kid, 15-year-old Nevaeh. This stage is hosted by The GiG – a new partner for this year who provide a platform for emerging and established artists, photographers, journalists for networking and promotion. My 40th birthday party was meant to be a one off and now look at it! I never would have dreamed that I would have the likes of Lightning Seeds, Republica, Toploader, the legendary Bruce Foxton or Dodgy on my stage… let alone even have a stage to put them on! We cannot wait for this year, with Reef headlining, it really is going to be an unforgettable 50th birthday party!
