Pupils from five primary schools enjoyed a memorable trip to Parliament after being invited by local MP Shaun Davies.
Children from schools across Four Hills Education Trust travelled to London for a special educational visit, which included a tour of the Houses of Parliament and the chance to learn more about the history and importance of UK democracy.
The visit brought together pupils from across the trust’s schools in Telford and Albrighton and gave children the opportunity to see first-hand where key decisions are made.
Kirsty Osman, chief executive of Four Hills Education Trust, said the visit had been an inspiring experience for everyone involved.
“This was a fantastic opportunity for our children to learn more about Parliament, democracy and the history of such an important national institution,” she said.
“Our CARE values are centred around Critical Thinking, Aspiration, Resilience and Empathy, and experiences like this help bring those values to life beyond the classroom.
“We are incredibly proud of the children who represented their schools so brilliantly. They were outstanding ambassadors for Four Hills Education Trust and made the most of every moment.”
As part of the day, pupils also enjoyed a whistle-stop tour of some of London’s most famous landmarks, making the visit even more memorable.
Joseph Piatczanyn, headteacher of Meadows Primary and director of vision and strategy for Four Hills Education Trust, organised the trip and thanked Shaun Davies MP for the invitation.
He said: “This was a truly memorable experience for our pupils and one that I am sure will stay with them for many years to come.
“Visiting Parliament gave the children a unique opportunity to see democracy in action and learn more about how decisions are made that affect their lives and communities.
“The pupils represented their schools exceptionally well throughout the day and it was wonderful to see them engaging with the experience so enthusiastically.
“We are very grateful to Shaun Davies MP for the invitation and delighted that children from across Four Hills Education Trust were able to share this opportunity together.”
Four Hills Education Trust includes Millbrook Primary in Leegomery, Meadows Primary in Ketley, William Reynolds Primary in Woodside and Albrighton Primary School, with Woodlands Primary also set to join pending the completion of the legal process.
