A Shropshire sign and print company has invested in new machinery to become one of the first in the county to offer a new specialist service.
Cyclone Sign and Print, based at Rodenhurst Business Park between Shrewsbury and Telford, has invested in the new Inktec UV DTF (Direct To Film) printer.
Director, Allun Williams said the machine is expected to generate an increase in work which could result in at least one new employee.
This new machine allows the team to print any images, branding or artwork the same day which can either be used by the customer to apply on whatever products they wish or to be branded by the Cyclone team on their range of products.
Allun Williams, who is celebrating 10 years in business as Cyclone Sign and Print this year and boasts decades of experience in the sign and print industry, said the Inktec was already proving a game changer for customers.
“People are busy and want products quicker than ever and we have always supported that through our customer service but some processes take longer than others and that has resulted in customers being unable to have branded products in time for their events and deadlines.
“We wanted to ensure we could meet the needs of our valued customers right here in Shropshire and invested in this new UV DTF machine. It means someone could send us over a design – from a logo to their own designed artwork – and we would print and they would collect or have it posted and then they apply themselves to any product they wish in seconds.
“With the huge number of trade fairs and expos our clients go to, this is fantastic and more cost effective than ever before for them.
“Customers could buy any product off the shelf from anywhere and literally brand it up using the UV DTF transfers. They appear slightly 3D offering a premium quality look which is both waterproof and scratch resistant.
“We launched these at the recent Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Connectin’ Business Expo and we had a fantastic reaction. People saw how easy they are to use and how good the finished product looks.”
This latest investment comes closely after Allun also invested in a laser cutter engraving machine to add to the portfolio of machines and expand his services.
Allun’s daughter, Abigail Williams, also works in the business and said despite working with many leading, large brands this would enable any business of any size to create a professional look for their business, whilst also using the transfer stickers to boost fundraising activities for sports and community clubs.
“With each transfer working out as little as 25p per sticker, a business or a community group could buy a mug or a notebook from the high street for as little as £1 and have a branded item for just £1.25 which they could sell to their customers or supporters for much more.
“It is already a little addictive as we see so many fabulous designs and then print them off onto cups, flasks, notebooks, glasses – absolutely anything.
