Flow Office Furniture and Interiors rounded off their second year in business with an awesome project for Birmingham-based digital company Lightbox.

Set up in 2017 by Lee Gill and Spencer Turner, Flow has since gone from strength to strength and they have doubled their turnover these past twelve months. Specialists at creating and refurbishing office spaces and working environments, Flow have completed 21 projects over the last year. They have designed, planned and installed workspaces for a diversity of companies in various locations ranging from London to Manchester, including plenty here in the West Midlands. Flow will manage each stage of the project from start to finish and ensure it meets the requirements and budget of the business.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of the project and it was great to work with a company that embraces new ideas so readily and shows such an enterprising attitude to the workplace.” – Client comment.

One of Lee’s favourite projects last year was for business communications solution company Wavenet. This involved transforming a plain blank shell of 11,250 sq ft, into a modern, vibrant office for multi-functional use for their 100 staff members in Solihull.

Flow began 2019 with a fantastic project in central Birmingham for Lightbox – a digital agency, specialising in web design & digital marketing campaigns. Lightbox were relocating to accommodate their expanding team and to position themselves in a prime location. Lightbox aim to make digital human by speaking the language their customers speak and they wanted a modern office which would appeal to their dynamic team and their customers. Flow was the solution!

“Lee recognised the importance of the move to the business and went above and beyond from the very start to make sure the process was as smooth as possible at all times.” – PJ Ellis, Commercial Director – Lightbox.

Flow worked in partnership with Approved Shopfitting and Interiors to design, fit-out and furnish Lightbox’s new space in St. Paul’s Square in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. They created an industrial feel for Lightbox using grey and black tones, punctuated with bright brand colours to inspire creativity. The result is an office that the company, their team and their clients love! You can view a full case study of the project on the Flow website.

Looking forward to the months ahead, Lee predicts we’ll see biophilic design become a key trend. This is all about drawing on the innate connection and positive response humans have to nature to create better workplaces. This is more than just adding a few token indoor plants, but it can be as simple as maximizing the daylight in an office or incorporating natural materials. Biophilic office design can have a powerful uplift to employee wellbeing, focus and productivity and make the environment a more inviting, appealing place to work. It stands to reason that companies are keen to incorporate this into their spaces and Lightbox is now literally flowing with biophilic design as they have an aquarium in their space courtesy of ViDERE Aquariums!
