Second season signing for Silverstone Fleet Management support

Community minded vehicle leasing firm Silverstone Fleet Management have been sponsoring a local girls football team, which have gone from strength to strength this season.

Under 13s side AFC Houghton Magna Hawks have proudly worn the Silverstone Fleet Management logo on their chests since the season began last year and will do so again next season as the firm have renewed their sponsorship again to continue their support.

The U13 Hawks play nine-a-side matches in the Northamptonshire Women’s and Girls Macron Football League from their base at Leys Lane, Great Houghton.

Silverstone Fleet Management, based just down the road in Preston Deanery, Northampton, decided to sponsor the Hawks team to increase their brand awareness in the area but also to give back to their wider local community.

Managing Director Scott Norville said: “The Hawks are local to us being in Great Houghton and there are some amazingly talented players on the team. We are proud to support such a skilful set and be able to offer financial support to ensure the team have the kits and training gear they need.

“As a local business, it is important to us to positively impact the community in which we operate and grassroots football brings huge benefits to children and young people, not just through promoting exercise but by teaching many different disciplines and life lessons.

“The U13 Hawks coach and manager Anthony Gibson is a good friend of mine and is hugely devoted to the team – and it shows. His dedication and investment in the girls have created a strong and united side, a force to be reckoned with!

“We are really looking forward to getting behind the team again next season and supporting the girls.”

Scott has regularly been seen on the side lines this season with his eldest son, who is a big fan of the Hawks. The most recent match saw AFC Houghton Magna play their hearts out against Kingsthorpe Jets in the Sally Keeble Under 13’s Girls Cup Finals at Cogenhoe United Football Cup.

“A great afternoon, my son loved it,” said Scott. “Although they didn’t reach victory this time, it was a fun and exciting match to watch. We are delighted to be able to show our support.”

The Silverstone Fleet Management team plan to continue their cheerleading roles again for the 2022/23 season as often as possible.
