Scunthorpe based business Symes Bains Broomer Solicitors has announced the appointment of new Directors, Helen Barton, Solicitor (Commercial and Agricultural), Joanne Harriman, Solicitor (Matrimonial Finance and Family) and Andrew Ford, (Practice Manager), with the financial support of  Barclays.

Symes Bains Broomer Solicitors has roots going back to the late 18th century and the most recent merger in 2004 created the current partnership with offices in Scunthorpe, Goole, and Howden. The partnership offers a full range of legal services from three offices based in North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, and recently incorporated the practices of Rix McLaren and Parcton Law Chambers to further grow the business.

Andrew Horwich, Senior Partner of Symes Bains Broomer Solicitors said: “Evolving and expanding the business is pivotal for the future of the practice. We have recently completed a conversion to limited company status, and we decided at the same time to seek authorisation from our Regulator to practice as an Alternative Business Structure (ABS). This gives us tremendous flexibility to promote key staff into Director roles, irrespective of their role within the business, with the prospect of them taking on a share in the ownership of the practice in the future. The funding from Barclays has enabled us to recruit new partners and ensure the business is fit for the future with a diverse team operating across many sectors.”

Kevin Peart, Barclays Relationship Director put together the funding package for the deal and said; “It’s been very rewarding working with the new partners future proofing the practice and I know they have big plans to take the practice to the next level. The new funding from Barclays will enable them to reach new markets and we’re delighted to be able to support Symes Bains Broomer Solicitors with their growth ambitions.”
