Leading provider of demolition, remediation and ground and enabling works, Rye Group, has announced plans to utilise a new tech solution that will enable it to effectively showcase its full waste compliance and reduce energy usage for all projects delivered.
Headquartered in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, Rye Group is committed to its own Sustainable Standard framework and prides itself on positively impacting the communities in which it operates.
By utilising the digital waste management system, SmartWaste – a dedicated sustainability and environmental monitoring and reporting software solution developed by BRE [Building Research Establishment] – Rye Group will not only be able to demonstrate full waste compliance but will also be able to accurately capture and report on its energy, water, materials, transport, and carbon usage.
As a result, Rye Group will be able to proactively reduce environmental impact for all projects delivered, while offering full transparency and accurate reporting for its clients.
Ben Griffiths, Safety, Health and Environmental Director of Rye Group, explained: “This digital waste management solution is a sophisticated tool that accurately measures and reports on waste generated via each project, while enabling us to set clear objectives to reduce our environmental impact, optimising re-use and recycling rates – therefore supporting our overarching Sustainable Standard philosophy.
What’s more, as many of our clients already utilise digital waste management systems, they will be able to easily access our dashboard through the API and gain full insight into the energy, water, materials, and carbon used for each project, in turn helping to achieve their own environmental strategy and resulting net-zero targets.”
Established in 1994, Rye Group is at the forefront of the demolition industry for sustainability and boasts exceptional recycling and reuse rates.
In August 2021, it became the first demolition contractor to roll out the use of HVO fuel across its fleet, which reduces carbon emissions by 90% and NOx emissions by 30% when compared to diesel.
