Remembrance event to bring together Wyre Forest community

Wyre Forest charity KEMP Hospice will be releasing a kaleidoscope of butterflies as a symbol of remembrance for lost loved ones. On Saturday 10th September, a beautiful and poignant display will take place as they release the butterflies in the stunning grounds of Bodenham Arboretum.

The butterfly release is sponsored by The Wharf Care Home Stourport and is the first of it’s kind for the charity. Taking place in the tranquil surroundings of Bodenham Arboretum, the charity is inviting people to donate and dedicate their own butterfly in memory of loved ones who may no longer be with us.

Jayne Sargeant, KEMP Hospice Fundraiser said “We know that times are tough right now and can be especially difficult for those who are grieving or bereaved. We want this event to be an opportunity to gather with others who may be facing similar circumstances, to support each other and take a moment to remember our loved ones”.

Each person who donates and dedicates a butterfly will receive a free entry into Bodenham Arboretum on Saturday 10th September for the event and will be invited to release their own butterfly. Jayne continued “Butterflies represent hope, and each one released will carry with it the dedication of a very special loved one. We’ll be releasing them collectively so look forward to a dazzling display as the butterflies take flight and come to rest in the Arboretum”

Heather Young, Home Manager at The Wharf Care Home said “It is always lovely to be able to support and recognise such the hard work that our hospices do. KEMP Hospice is a wonderful place, with dedicated staff and it is The Wharfs pleasure to be just a small part of their fund raising.”

KEMP Hospice provides end of life care, counselling and emotional support to residents across the Wyre Forest, supporting over 1,000 people each year. They never charge for their care, ensuring anyone can access their services, no matter the circumstances. By securing a butterfly, you will also be making a vital donation to KEMP Hospice which will help them to continue to be there for people when they face some of their toughest times.
