Oxfordshire-based law firm Hedges has once again been ranked highly in two of the UK’s most prestigious national guides to the best law firms in the country with two members of the team receiving special recommendations.

The firm, which has been at the heart of the Oxford community since 1789, was recognised in this year’s prestigious Chamber’s directory, announced today, which showcases the best legal talent in the industry, as well as in the 2024 Legal 500 guide the UK’s leading directory to the best law firms in the country.

The Legal 500 guide highlighted the firm’s Private Client Family work, acknowledging the teams’ proactive approach in dealing with financial remedy cases, both nationally and internationally, its expertise in complex pension arrangements, and its specialism in dealing with complex and high-conflict Children Act cases. The firm was also endorsed for its work in the property development sector.

While the rankings recognise the work of the whole Hedges’ team, Family Team Leader and Senior Associate Zoe Rose and Managing Director Nicola Poole were also named individually in the Legal 500 directory, both receiving recommendations.

Published each year, the Legal 500 and Chambers directories assess law firms across the UK, rating and recommending the top performing firms and legal professionals across their legal services.

Speaking on being named in this year’s guide, Family Team Leader and Senior Associate, Zoe Rose said: “It is truly humbling to receive a recommendation in this year’s Legal 500 and Chambers directories, our success and ranking is down to the hard work of every member of the team. I’d also like to thank our clients and professional contacts that took the time to provide feedback on us and the ways we collaborate to ensure that clients are fully supported throughout.”

This year’s achievements in both the Legal 500 and Chambers’ guides mark a successful year for the firm, which has seen its team grow to over 45 legal professionals, and the opening of its new offices in Banbury Road, Summertown. Recently the firm was also shortlisted for two industry awards, including the British Wills and Probate Awards where it was one of the finalists in the Innovation and Transformation of the Year category for its Help From Hedges service.

Help From Hedges is the firm’s new service launched to meet local demand and to help protect the independence of its clients as they reach older age.

Managing Director, Nicola Poole, said: “Our rankings in both the Legal 500 and Chambers guides have topped off a special year for Hedges, which has seen our team continue to grow, our new offices opening in Summertown, and our work being recognised at a national level through the British Wills and Probate and LexisNexis Family Law Awards. Every member of our team should be incredibly proud of all our achievements.”

Hedges provides legal support for clients across all aspects of their lives, including advising on wills, probate and inheritance planning, as well as dispute resolution, family and divorce, and property law advice. The law firm has offices in Summertown in Oxford, Wallingford, and hubs in both the Cotswolds and London.
