Promotion for petrol head apprentice

An ambitious apprentice with a love of cars celebrated completing his apprenticeship at a thriving Northampton-based vehicle leasing firm with a well-earned promotion.

Ned Masalskas was appointed as customer care apprentice in the summer of last year at Silverstone Leasing, where he has spent the last 12 months learning the ropes and integrating with the award-winning team.

Ned was working as a business administrator apprentice at a software company before he changed direction to move into the vehicle leasing industry. Silverstone Leasing gave him the opportunity to complete his apprenticeship in a supportive environment, and petrol head Ned grabbed the opportunity with both hands, recently completing his City & Guilds Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, with Distinction.

His enthusiasm, work ethic, and commitment to delivering a great customer experience led to a well-earned promotion which saw Ned move from Customer Care into Embrace Leasing as a Leasing Account Manager, where he continues to support customers through their leasing journey with the same energy and attention to detail that has made him such a valued part of the team.

Ned is most proud of his transition from Customer Care to the sales team. He said: “When I worked in Customer Care, I could hear what the sales guys are doing, and I thought I’d like to give that a go. When I made the move, I hit the ground running and have never looked back. It’s different every day with new customers and challenges.

“Everyone that works in Silverstone Leasing has a strong sense of duty of care to customers. They are our main priority.”

Ned also singlehandedly transformed Silverstone Leasing’s customer care department when he introduced new systems to improve internal processes.

Silverstone Leasing managing director Scott Norville said: “From very early on, Ned showed exactly the characteristics that Silverstone Leasing looks for in an apprentice: he was eager to learn, commercially minded, confident with technology and, most importantly, willing to get involved.

“Ned didn’t come into the business expecting everything to be handed to him. He asked questions, absorbed information, and quickly started looking at how things could be done better.

“One great example was his involvement in improving and streamlining our vehicle-order processes using the visual task and checklist tool, Trello. Rather than simply learning the ropes in our existing process, he looked at how technology could help make it more efficient for both the team and our customers.

“Ned’s positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile make him a fantastic asset to the business, and we’re excited to see his continued growth.”
