Two long-time friends, Ashley and James, have been on a mission since the first lockdown to deliver mindful moments in the form of artistic puzzles, at a time when taking a moment for yourself is more important than ever. Friends since university, Ashley and James, set on this journey amidst the backdrop of much uncertainty.

James Edwards, Co-Founder: “Three months into furlough, I think I’d watched every Netflix series and online course going. I thought there had to be something more worthwhile that I could be doing. At the same time, I heard the news that a career move  to Australia was cancelled due to the pandemic. Despite knowing I was incredibly fortunate, I also felt helpless and a bit trapped and realised I was very much in need of a way to chill out. Ash and I, who both studied Business Management at University, had long since spoken about starting something together and took some time to explore various ideas. After weeks of endless Zoom calls and much back and forth via Whatsapp, we arrived at the idea of artistic puzzles to promote mindfulness. And Piece and Quiet was born.”

Whilst over the past few years in particular, there has been huge leaps in people’s understanding of the importance of mindfulness and mental health management techniques, it’s never something we should take for granted and must do all we can to nurture it. Which is why, through our artistic puzzles, we are encouraging and reminding everyone to never forget to take some time for themselves.

After months of reaching out to various artists across the UK, we stumbled across the Instagram of the incredible Sophie Charnley and we were certain Sophie’s style would be the perfect fit for our first collection. Sophie describes her artistic style as “fun, bold, dynamic and FULL of character”. Each puzzle includes an ‘Artist Spotlight Card’, aimed  at getting the puzzler closer to the artist, boosting their profile in the process.
