An online wine merchant that sells hand-picked wines from around the world has reported record sales this Christmas period and is braced for continued demand throughout 2021.
New business start-up Marlo has seen a huge upsurge in demand, driven in-part by the closure of pubs and clubs, helping to grow the business during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The London based company – selling a range of vintage and fine wines by the bottle with a focus on quality, fast delivery and a personal touch, have been boosted by a number of collaborations, most notably the introduction of a Declaration Gin produced by former England cricketer Michael Vaughan.
Director, Ben Dawes, said: “Since our launch in February, we have seen a steady rise in orders as the general public looks to find new ways to enjoy some of their favourites wines.
“With Marlo, we have introduced a service that enables consumers to order a concise selection of hero wins online and couriered to your door at an affordable price.
“We are truly passionate about wine and love to share that enthusiasm with our customers and hopefully help people break through the smokescreen that surrounds the wine trade and help them find some of the hidden gems over and above those standard bottles you find on the supermarket shelves.
“More people than ever are turning to online retailers for all kinds of products and wine is no different. Whether people are looking for a case or a single bottle our elegant selection hopefully has a little something to cover all tastes”.
