An online disruptor platform which launched at the start of the year has already hit its first landmark as it has become the largest supply chain in the UK for electronic security engineering.
Online technical services purchasing platform instaENG, which allows customers to post electronic security engineering jobs that businesses or sole traders can directly bid for, has just reached 50 registered suppliers.
The landmark comes just a matter of weeks after the innovative platform launched and now makes it the most significant supply chain to the industry, with suppliers able to bid for jobs at more than 2,500 locations across the country.
An entirely online offering, instaENG has secured business worth more than £2 million from blue chip clients across the country, including the likes of Travis Perkins, City Plumbing Supplies and Benchmarx, since its inception at the start of the year.
It offers a cost-effective solution for customers, while ensuring engineers receive a higher proportion of income earned than as a sub-contractor.

Rich, who has been an electrical engineer since he left school, set up Technicom in 2005 when he started subcontracting for big industry players such as Chubb and Mitie.
His company, which specialises in domestic and commercial installation of CCTV systems, access control and alarm systems, is now directly bidding for work with Travis Perkins.
Rich said: “The thing I most like about this platform is it opens up a big door. You would not normally see these kinds of jobs unless you were subcontracting for a Mitie or a Chubb.
“Under the old regime, the pay wasn’t great and you wouldn’t be able to work directly for a big company such as Travis Perkins.
“Now, we can work directly with them and build relationships. It is a win-win situation.”
Customers post jobs on instaENG in specialities from security engineers for CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and fire systems, which businesses then bid for, democratising the process and making it leaner, more efficient and fully transparent.
David added: “We encourage an open marketplace delivering choice to our customers. Engineers can also add certification to their profile indicating a high level of competence, so it really is an incredibly transparent process.”
