Nottingham professionals invited to property development seminar

Martin Jinks

Developers, architects, local authorities and professionals from the wider construction and property industries are invited to the second in a series of specialist property development seminars, which will be hosted by experts at leading East Midlands-based law firm Nelsons.

The second part of the free events will share top tips on overage, restrictive covenants, promoters’ responsibilities, public and private rights of way, sales to Housing Associations, securing ‘finders’ fees’ and negotiating funding documentation, as well as how the escalating ground rents and the amendments to the Code for Home Builders impacts developers and their buyers.

The seminar will take place at Notts County Football Club, on Meadow Lane, Nottingham in the morning on the 10 September.

Martin Jinks, Partner and Solicitor in Nelsons’ commercial property team, said: “Property developments across the country often encounter various challenges and issues. However, there are ways developers can plan for and overcome obstacles so that development projects can go ahead and, ultimately, be successful. The second part of our property development seminars will touch on these issues and discuss how to approach them.

“Our free seminar is open to anyone involved or contemplating becoming involved in developments. Even if you were unable to attend the first part of the series, this seminar will be useful to any professionals who advise in this area, such as planning consultants, developers, architects, surveyors, local authorities and agents.”

The first part of the seminars – which took place earlier in the year – received unanimous acclaims, with guests stating that the event was “one of the best I have attended”, “interesting with wide ranging content” and “well-structured and engaging”.

The seminar is free to attend but places are limited. To register your attendance, please email: [email protected] or call 0800 024 1976. Registration will take place from 9am with the seminar starting at 9.15am and expected to finish at 12.30pm. There will be a networking opportunity once the seminar has concluded, and a light lunch will be served following the event.
