Northampton has welcomed a new diagnostics clinic, backed by TV presenter and sports personality Gabby Logan, offering rapid diagnostics for residents looking for answers to their health concerns.

One Day Tests has opened a brand new clinic in Sol Central, just six minutes’ walk from Northampton Station; providing residents access to hundreds of blood tests, giving a real boost to those on NHS waiting lists or looking for same or next day results. Latest NHS data shows that the average waiting time for a GP appointment in Northampton is three weeks, with blood tests taking anywhere between two and six weeks.

This new Northampton clinic is part of One Day Tests’ network of 38 clinics across the UK, and reflects a move towards more proactive healthcare across the UK. Rather than waiting for symptoms to prompt a GP referral, growing numbers of people are seeking out proactive, data-led insight into everything from nutritional deficiencies to early cardiovascular risk markers and hormone imbalances.

Each month, One Day Tests analyses over 80,000 biomarkers at its CQC-regulated, UKAS-accredited laboratory based in Crawley. TV presenter, Gabby Logan, is an ambassador for One Day Tests, having used the service for herself and her family.

CEO, Yuri Fadeev, comments: “We’re delighted to have launched our first Northampton Clinic – our third in the East Midlands – enabling more people to take a proactive approach to their health. Our mission is to make high-quality diagnostics faster, simpler and more accessible, so people can get the insights they need without unnecessary delays.

Whether you want to investigate a specific concern, establish a baseline to improve specific biomarkers, or simply understand your body better: One Day Tests is there to provide the access to the data and support that you need. As well as the testing itself, as we have our own laboratory, our results are quicker – often the same or next day – and more accurate. We also have an in-house team of GPs who can then translate and support you as you need.”

Phlebotomist Natalie Batchelor will be heading up the Northampton Clinic, and she adds: “Proactive healthcare management is on the rise, and One Day Tests is there to provide fast, accurate results. Whether you have an ongoing healthcare issue you’re looking to monitor, or are simply interested in how well your body is performing, a blood test can provide some much needed clarity to ease your concerns.

Recent advancements in technology has meant that diagnostic testing no longer needs to be completed in a hospital – it can be done during your lunch break, when you’ve dropped the kids off at school or when you’re on the way to the gym. We want people to stop guessing when it comes to their health and wellbeing and start testing. Our tests are easy to access and empower individuals to make proactive choices about their healthcare, without the need to spend weeks anxiously waiting for results.”

Alongside blood testing, the Northampton Clinic offers testosterone replacement therapy and medically supervised weight management, giving patients a single location for both diagnosis and follow-up care.
