A Staffordshire IT and technology company has launched a brand-new app to help keep lone workers safe.

Fifteen Group who deliver a range of services to customers across the UK and Ireland, has developed the Lone Workers Smart Safety App in partnership with MisentinelSOS.

It’s been designed to help protect the wellbeing of staff who work on their own as well as giving them peace of mind.

The App connects to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) which is staffed by a specialist team who can provide quick and reliable help in case of an emergency or a potential threat.

User friendly and intuitive, the app provides staff with easy access through all digital access and platforms. Features include:

  • Location Tracking – real time GPS allows the app to locate a lone worker in an emergency
  • Panic, Falls & Shake Alert
  • Incident Timeline – where detail is recorded and logged for data protection and reporting
  • Clock-In/Out – start and end sessions with the app
  • 2-Way Communication – text/audio/video communication to ensure direct contact with the ARC
  • 24/7 Monitoring – automated and timed safety check calls via notification reminders

Customers are also provided with a web-based portal which gives them access to the relevant information. Based on Parkhall Industrial Estate, Fifteen Group employ 44 staff, including ten-field based engineers and four directors.

Ian Walker is one of the Directors and has overseen the development of the app.

He said: “Working patterns have certainly changed since the pandemic and we know that as a result more people are working alone. Being in an office on your own or going out to a job alone can leave people feeling vulnerable. We wanted to develop software that would essentially give lone workers peace of mind, and through our partnership with MiSentinelSOS we’ve achieved that.

He explained: “The app is intuitive, easy to use and will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of people who work alone. We hope that by using the app staff feel like they have an added sense of security because a support system has been put in place to help keep them safe.”

Fifteen Group who have been trading since 2006 are a technology solutions provider and provide services including telecommunications, IT, fire and security and software development.
