Classic car owners are gearing up to head to Shropshire for an annual motor day – but this year they will get the added element of new talks and demonstrations.

The event at Apley Farm Shop on July 12 will see visitors showing their machines from years gone by and marvelling at the beauty of more than 200 cars on display.

For the first time this year, there will also be some talks by classic motor exhibitors and demonstrations of vehicles in action, such as two World War Two jeeps with details of their history and a vehicle valeting and detailing company demonstrating a machine polish.

There will also be the usual Apley catering, entertainment, local craft stalls, music and much more.

Estate Director Graeme Manton, who himself owns a modern classic Jaguar F type, said it is sure to be an exciting day.

“This is one of the annual events at Apley that many people mark in their calendar very early on and really look forward to,” he said.

“It is a fantastic family day out and the display of cars is always breathtaking.

“It is a wonderful sight to see them all on the lawns at Apley and the buzz around the area, with so many like-minded people sharing their passion, is so clear.

“To have the added talks and demonstrations this year is a huge benefit to give enthusiasts another chance to learn more or see more classic motors in action – we are sure they will love it!”

The first Classic Motor Day was held in 2013 with just one car and one go kart, but it has quickly become a much-anticipated event for hundreds of enthusiasts and car club members.

The popular event, at the site on the A442 between Telford and Bridgnorth, is expected to attract around 2,000 people and prizes will be handed out by judges at 2pm.

Categories on display this year will be pre 1960, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990 and after, Club, Commercial, Bike and American – as well as classic tractors.

Owners of vehicles to be displayed will arrive from 7.30am and can register to bring their cars on the day online here: https://shop.beyonk.com/0eq8l13r/experiences/23nbe8r3

The field will be open to the public from 10.30am to 3pm and visitors can pay on the day or buy tickets in advance here: https://shop.beyonk.com/0eq8l13r/experiences/eifv7cn8?group=experiences

Apley is also the custodian of 1,500 acres of woodland, a further 3,500 acres of in hand farmland farmed to high environmental standards and 3,500 acres of let farmland, as well as award winning wedding venue Stockton House.

The company also runs the popular Apley Farm Shop, which includes a butchery, café and soft play, and Apley on the High Street, a café in Bridgnorth Town Centre.

Each venture is run and managed with a vision for heritage, environment and community, with each decision carefully considering restoration, sustainability and developing relationships.
