Monzo crowned ‘Best Bank’ at the British Bank Awards

  • UK’s largest digital bank scoops top prize at last night’s British Bank Awards, which is run by Smart Money People
  • Monzo was also named Best Business Banking Provider and Best Banking App at the industry awards

Monzo, the UK’s largest digital bank, last week was named Best British Bank at the British Bank Awards, in categories voted for by customers. The seven year old bank, which has almost six million customers and a valuation of $4.5bn following a $600m funding round last year, also scooped the top awards for Best Business Banking Provider and Best Banking App.

Founded with a mission to Make Money Work for Everyone, Monzo is known for developing industry-first products and tools that give customers the visibility and control to better manage their financial lives. These include instant notifications, Salary Sorter, Trends and Pots. Monzo is attracting more than 100,000 customers every month,

In 2020, it launched subscription products Monzo Plus and Monzo Premium, offering customers the chance to supercharge their savings, access exclusive offers and have things like travel and phone insurance taken care of. In the same year it went live with Monzo Business, offering small business owners and freelancers a seamless business banking experience directly through the Monzo app. To date, more than 350,000 customers have signed up across Monzo Plus, Monzo Premium and Monzo Business.
