We are in lockdown, our food markets are closed, but this doesn’t mean that we cease our support to the coMMunity. We have been a beacon of hope during the lockdowns with our community work, and we now stand ready to support further. Therefore, we offer our venues in Southwark and Mayfair, refrigeration facilities and staff assistance to help an efficient and quick roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccination.
We have enough space to be used as vaccination centres, and we invested heavily on ensuring our venues are COVID secure. Our venues can hold over 1500 people in total, with the social distancing measures in place. Given that current vaccination centres need to be operating 12 hours per day, 7 days a week; our maximum capacity for vaccinations for a week can reach up to 126,000 people.
Besides, we have ample refrigeration facilities that can store the Oxford vaccine in required temperatures and an agile team to support the organization.
MM’s founder Andrea Rasca states the importance of this offer: “We are first and most of all a community space. And that’s why at this moment of this dire health crisis, we want to offer our space to the community for the community’s benefit. The only way to see the light end of this tunnel is to vaccinate as many people as possible, as fast as possible. That’s why we should all give our availability to speed up this process. MM is always with the community because we know that together we are stronger.”
We are proud to stand with others within the hospitality industry ready to get this country back on its feet. We ask the NHS and the Government to accept our offer and enable us to support the vaccination process to get back to the “normality” as soon as possible.
