Mary Stevens Hospice launches telephone support service

Claire Towns CEO of Mary Stevens Hospice

Today (Wednesday 15th April) will see the launch of a brand new telephone support service at Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge.

Claire Towns CEO said “In direct response to the challenge our community is facing amidst the COVID-19 pandemic we have set up a telephone and online advice service for members of the public, carers and care home staff to access during these unprecedented times. This service aims to provide timely, practical and compassionate support for anyone who needs help or guidance with practical advice, advance care planning, emotional and spiritual care, support in the last days and hours of life and clinician advice where required. We are committed to serving our community at their time of need and aware that many people will require additional guidance, especially when caring for people approaching the end of life.”

This is part of the extensive work Mary Stevens Hospice is doing to help provide care and guidance to more people at their time of need, in partnership with Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group. Based at The Mary Stevens Hospice the service will go live on Wednesday 15th April. The advice and support line will be available over 7 days a week, between the hours of 8am-4pm and will be operated by members of the hospice team. Anyone who requires further help will be signposted to other services. Out of hours there will be a dedicated answerphone service. To contact the hub please call 01384-445417 or by emailing supporthub@marystevenshospice.co.uk. Online support is available by visiting www.marystevenshospice.co.uk.
