Manchester eyewear company Specscart is celebrating being named one of the fastest-growing firms in the UK.

The Bury-headquartered optical firm – which is aiming to end the financial year by smashing through a £5m turnover milestone – has now been recognised as one of the most entrepreneurial businesses across seven nations and regions.

The accolade comes from the 2024 UK Fast Growth Index, which analyses data from thousands of businesses to handpick the ones experiencing warp-speed growth.

Industry judges placed Specscart in the North of England Fast Growth 50 list – which ranks the 50 fastest growing business in the region.

Specscart founder and managing director Sid Sethi said: “I know from our UK and worldwide online orders, staff headcount and footfall in our shops that Specscart is growing rapidly so this award is fantastic recognition of that.

“Our growth is huge but our plans are even bigger – with US expansion, a late-night production lab and an industry-leading new website on the cards over the next 12 months – so watch this space.”

Specscart’s specific ranking within the list will be revealed at the UK Fast Growth Awards on November 28th at the Bloomsbury Big Top in London.

The UK Fast Growth Awards ceremony is a night of celebration, recognising businesses from across seven regions namely London, the Midlands and the East of England, the North of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, the South of England and Wales.

It will also honour the fastest-growing firms in twelve key sectors acknowledging the incredible impact of these businesses on the UK’s economy.

Specscart brings together a high street retail offering of three bricks and mortar shops across Greater Manchester with innovative e-commerce which sees the affordable glasses they make in-house at their Bury headquarters, delivered in 24 hours.

The UK Fast Growth Index identifies the fastest-growing businesses in the UK, highlighting their exceptional contributions to the economy. Collectively, the 350 businesses on this year’s index are generating over £12 billion in turnover.

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, the founder of the UK Fast Growth Index, said: “The businesses listed in this year’s UK Fast Growth Index represent the best of British entrepreneurship. Their collective contributions are driving significant economic growth, creating jobs, and shaping the future of the UK economy.

“We are proud to celebrate their success and look forward to revealing their place on the lists at the awards ceremony this November.”
