Leading law firm bolsters dispute resolution team

Lesley Harrison

Leading Leicester-based law firm Nelsons has added to its expert dispute resolution team, after welcoming a new associate and solicitor.

Lesley Harrison has five years’ experience and qualified as a solicitor in 2021 while working at Duncan & Toplis Legal Services Ltd. She specialises in inheritance disputes and disputes over property.

She said: “I’m incredibly excited to have joined Nelsons – a firm with an excellent reputation for its dispute resolution work as well as being known as a great place to work. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming, with a lunchtime social on my first day that gave me the opportunity to meet colleagues from other departments.

“It is clear that everyone is incredibly passionate about what they do and is committed to empowering their clients. I look forward to being able to do the same as I settle into my role, expand my network and secure the best possible outcomes for both my clients and the firm.”

Lesley graduated from De Montfort University in 2014 with an undergraduate in Law, before going on to complete her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the same university in 2016. She then went on to join Duncan & Toplis Legal Services Ltd in 2017 where she completed her training to become a solicitor.

Since 2019, Lesley has also been a member of STEP, a global professional body comprising lawyers, accountants and other practitioners that help families plan for their futures.

She added: “STEP’s mission is to inspire confidence in families, something that has always resonated with me and is at the heart of everything I do for my clients, who are often going through a challenging period of their life when they approach solicitors. My new role at Nelsons is the perfect place to build on the foundations I have built over the past five years, and I can’t wait to see what 2022 holds.”

Lewis Addison, Partner and Solicitor in the dispute resolution team, said: “We are pleased to welcome Lesley to our team as we continue with our plans to develop the department. We have big ambitions, and I have no doubt that Lesley will play an integral part in those plans, she has already hit the ground running in her first few weeks and I look forward to watching her progress in her role.”
