Katharine House Hospice launches Danceathon!

Katharine House Hospice is thrilled to be launching the first event of 2021 and the first since the start of the coronavirus pandemic!

A perfect antidote to the lockdown blues – Danceathon – a high energy afternoon of dance and fitness will take place at the Beacon Sports and Fitness Centre on 10 July 12 noon – 6pm.

The 6 hour dance and fitness challenge, which has run to huge success in previous years, will take place outside with Covid-19 safety measures in place.

Participants will be able to dance away the afternoon with some of Stafford’s finest instructors who’ll have the hours flying by with a mix of Zumba, Clubbercise, Bollywood and Belly Dancing!  Fancy dress is also actively encouraged so the afternoon will be fast, fun and fabulous!

Tickets for the event, which includes six hours and six different dance and fitness classes plus an official Danceathon pin badge on completion, are £10. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Cakes will be available on the day.

Participants will be helping to raise valuable funds for the hospice by getting sponsored to complete their fitness challenge.

We’ve been locked down for so long now’s the time to break out and dance! We have some amazing dance instructors and we can’t wait to dance like crazy to bring in some valuable funds and make a real difference to the lives of local people who need our care.

Simon Willson Manager of Beacon Sports Centre said: We are delighted to be hosting the Danceathon this year and welcoming back events. Katharine House continues to support so many families and is a huge asset to our community, this is a great opportunity for many of us and our families to be part of this incredible cause in a fun way. Let the dancing begin!
