Industry giants sign up to pioneering security services platform

Major businesses across the UK have signed up to an innovative online technical services’ purchasing platform launched by one of the country’s leading specialist security guarding firms.

Formed by the shareholders of Swindon-based security business SSGC at the end of 2020, InstaENG has already secured significant business from blue chip companies such as Travis Perkins, Toolstation, Keyline and Benchmarx.

Award-winning SSGC has seen its turnover soar throughout 2020 after working with Government-appointed agency Serco to rapidly recruit and deploy more than 4,000 staff to deliver Covid-19 test centres, aiding the development of the pioneering website to match security engineers with purchasers.

The platform acts as a trusted source for customers to post jobs in specialities from security engineers for CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and fire systems, which businesses or sole traders can then bid for, democratising the process and making it leaner, more efficient and transparent.

An entirely online offering, InstaENG provides a cost-effective solution for customers, while ensuring engineers receive a higher proportion of income earned than as a sub-contractor.

After developing the new proposition throughout the year, joint Founder David Stubbs says InstaENG will transform the landscape of the security engineering industry.

David said: “InstaENG is a truly unique offering which eliminates the margin from the dominant security providers. Allowing businesses to deal directly with local engineers using an embedded specification routine that ensures a transparent safe transaction.

“The response we have seen to platform has been incredibly positive and, to date, it has already secured business worth around £2 million.”

Guy Dungworth, InstaENG Co-Founder, said “Following on from our success with SSGC, we have utilised our expert knowledge of the security sector to launch InstaENG, along with the cutting-edge technology we have pioneered within the industry.

“The website allows a business to directly request a specific skillset, to which appropriate suppliers pitch.

“It ensures both ends of the supply chain receive the best deal possible and, crucially, is an incredibly efficient process, with the capability of turning around jobs and requests in a matter of hours.”

Jim McKenna, Head of Group Security and Loss Prevention at Travis Perkins, believes the platform has the potential to change the face of how the sector’s supply chain operates.

He said: “I was very keen to get involved with InstaENG. Travis Perkins and its subsidiaries have locations across the UK and Ireland.

“We need to be able to react with speed and efficiency to any issues within these sites, so to be able to access a platform of trusted, experienced suppliers at a moment’s notice is a real game-changer for us.

“We have already reaped the benefits by speedily mobilising engineers to businesses across the country and will continue to partner with the site throughout 2021.”

Engineers who sign up to InstaENG enjoy the opportunity of connecting directly with large national blue-chip organisations and benefit from increased revenue as the cost of the supply chain is eliminated.

David said: “We encourage an open marketplace delivering choice to our customers. Engineers can also add certification to their profile indicating a high level of competence.”
