Teams of four are being invited to join a hospice on the fairway for a spring fundraising Golf Day.

The St Richard’s Hospice Golf Day, held at The Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern, will take place on Friday, April 3.

Now in its fifth year, the event will see teams play 18 holes of golf before enjoying a two-course dinner, prize-giving, auction and raffle.

Ria Simons, fundraiser at St Richard’s, said: “We always look forward to this event, as it is a great day out with fun competition in a beautiful setting.

“Last year’s event saw more than £7,000 raised for St Richard’s Hospice and we hope to beat that total this year.

“We hope everyone can join us to tee-off for hospice care this spring!”

This year’s event is sponsored by Handelsbanken Worcester.

Andy Smith, Branch Manager at Handelsbanken Worcester, said: “I am delighted that myself and the team at Worcester are able to support St Richard’s Hospice with its fundraising efforts in 2020.

“In particular, we are very proud to be supporting its Golf Day this April.”

Tickets are available to book online for the event, with entry for a team of four priced at £300.

All golfers will start the day with bacon rolls, tea and coffee – before enjoying a day’s competition followed by dinner, prize-giving, a silent auction and raffle.

St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days. It also supports their loved ones.

Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,400 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

St Richard’s is an independent charity and relies on donations and gifts in Wills for the majority of its income with 22% funded by the NHS.

The hospice is also raising funds for the Build 2020 Appeal and is part way through developing a bigger hospice, enabling more patients and families to be cared for in Worcestershire. The total cost for expanding and redeveloping the existing building in Wildwood Drive, Worcester, is £5.3m.
