Hospice Pantomime raises £34,000 for patient care

The Mary Stevens Hospice Pantomime Company brought the magic of panto to Stourbridge last February with their production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, all to raise vital funds for The Mary Stevens Hospice.

In total, over £34,000 was raised which will be used to fund the outstanding care and support that the Hospice provides to their patients and families who face a life-limiting illness, from across the Black Country.

Over 4,000 people descending on Stourbridge Town Hall to cheer and sing as good overcame evil with the help of Snow White’s seven pint sized friends. Several patients of the Hospice and their families, attended the pantomime during February half term and the great reviews and comments from the community flooded in for all of the cast and crew.

Amanda Bowen, Head of Fundraising and Lottery at The Mary Stevens Hospice said: “The amount raised from our panto is fantastic, particularly after having to cancel the show in 2020, and after the challenges we all faced that year.

We are so thankful to all the cast and crew and the many, many businesses from all over the country, as without their generosity our panto would never have happened.

We can’t wait to bring the magic back in February and thrill our audiences once again, all in the name of a wonderful local charity.”

As well as families from across the Borough, eight schools attended afternoon performances of the pantomime to watch the on screen magic mirror Beverley Knight, Stevi Ritchie and Bradley hunt in action on the big stage.

The Mary Stevens Hospice Pantomime Company are proud to announce that they will take to the stage once again in 2023, as they bring the magic of Peter Pan to the Black Country from the 15th – 22nd February.

The Mary Stevens Hospice Pantomime Company are ‘flying’ out to their community in search of male and female actors and dancers to be a part of their next pantomime.

If you would like to be a part of their next pantomime, auditions will be taking place in July 2022. Please email ‘panto@mshfundraising.co.uk’ for more information.
