Christina Carrara
Joining Kettering-based CFW Chartered Accountants as the UK headed into lockdown was a very new experience for senior accountants Sophie McIntyre and Christina Carrara. Both were new starters in early March and after only a few days at CFW’s offices, were transitioned to home working along with the rest of the CFW team.
Sophie McIntyre was educated at Montsaye Academy in Northampton and graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester, with a first class honours degree in Accounting and Finance in 2018. After two years’ experience as an audit and account assistant, she joins CFW as a Senior Accountant. Sophie comments, “Doing a stocktake by Facetime was a new one for me! Working from home is also not something I’ve done before but I’ve been kept in the loop and the CFW team is so friendly and helpful; it’s a supportive working environment and that’s boosted my confidence”.

With a first class honours degree in Accounting with Psychology, Chartered Accountant Christina Carrara is a 2016 graduate of Northampton University and winner of Best Joint Honours Accounting Student. She joins CFW after 3 years at an accountancy firm in Milton Keynes. She adds, “It’s certainly been a surreal experience working from home. Everyone at CFW’s been very supportive under the circumstances, I’ve felt very welcome and they’ve really put me at ease. We’re in touch every day by ‘phone and we also have a firm WhatsApp group which keeps us all up to date and connected. Moving to a larger firm with more partners is a great opportunity for me to broaden my experience and my first few weeks have been amazing.”
