Harvey wins big apartment contract

Leading Henley-in-Arden based commercial decoration company Harvey UK has clinched a £1 million-plus contract to decorate apartments on one of the biggest regeneration projects in London.

Harvey UK will carry out all of the painting, decorating and finishing work on more than 300 apartments on the Elephant and Castle regeneration project, known as Elephant Park.

The 10-year £1.5 billion development by Lendlease will transform a previously neglected area of the capital. Ultimately the project will deliver more than 3,000 new homes south of the Thames.

The apartments, on the site of the former Heygate estate, include social housing, joint-ownership and market rental properties. In the latest contract Harvey will decorate 338 apartments, having already worked on two other phases of the regeneration project.

Harvey UK Managing Director Tony Harvey said they were delighted to be working with Lendlease again on such a major residential project which is due for completion in 2025.

“We have done other work on the Elephant and Castle regeneration project including the recently-completed Trafalgar House development, and we are pleased to be working on the latest phase which requires a very high standard of finishing and decoration, as well as resin floors,” he said.

Established in 1966, Harvey UK is a family-owned finishing and maintenance specialist, working on major projects in the industrial, education, health, local authority and residential sectors.

With offices in Henley-in-Arden and London, the group has a wide portfolio of blue-chip client projects including JLR, Muller, the NHS, Kier, Balfour Beatty, Skanska, Lendlease and the Royal Air Force.
