A team from Henley-in-Arden based commercial decoration company Harvey UK have raised cash for a Birmingham hospice with a day of tree recycling.

The five-strong team collected Christmas trees from around Northfield, Wythall and Kings Norton and took them to a nearby recycling depot.

The Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice tree re-cycling scheme across the city raised more than £85,000. Everyone who had a tree collected donated at least £10 to the hospice.

Harvey UK Managing Director Tony Harvey said the two teams from the company collected more than 120 trees on the day.

“It was great to support such a deserving charity, while having a lot of fun collecting the trees. There was friendly rivalry between our two teams which all added to the fun. People were very generous with their donations,” he said.

Established in 1966, Harvey UK is a family-owned commercial decoration and maintenance specialist, working on major projects in the industrial, education, health, local authority and residential sectors.
