Harlequins and Charles Stanley launch Big Game 15 Sensory Room

Harlequins and Charles Stanley have confirmed the launch of the inaugural Charles Stanley Sensory Room for Big Game 15 on Saturday 30 December.

Joining forces with the Club’s Official Player Welfare Partner, Charles Stanley Wealth Managers, the Charles Stanley Sensory Room will be the first of its kind at any sporting event at Twickenham Stadium.

The Charles Stanley Sensory Room is a designated space to help people, regardless of age, who have sensory processing needs. Its purpose is to provide a safe and calming environment for those with neurodivergent needs who may be finding the match atmosphere overwhelming.

The Charles Stanley Sensory Room will be located in box 3051 in the North East corner of the lower tier with pitch views. Should demand exceed capacity we do have access to another sensory space located elsewhere within the stadium.

Paul Abberley, Charles Stanley Chief Executive Officer said: “Our partnership with Harlequins is rooted in our shared values, including our approach to inclusion. We are exceptionally proud to sponsor the Harlequins and Charles Stanley Sensory Room at Big Game 15. We wish all attending a wonderful, fun-filled afternoon.”

Harlequins CEO Laurie Dalrymple commented: “As a Club we continuously strive to offer a warm welcome to all supporters, regardless of age, background, ability, or circumstance. Working with Charles Stanley we’re incredibly proud to launch the first sensory room at Twickenham Stadium, and we hope it provides an important opportunity for disabled fans to experience the incomparable sense of unity, excitement, and atmosphere that Big Game 15 offers.”

Following on from Big Game 15, Charles Stanley will once again combine forces with the Club to bring back the second edition of the Harlequins Access Day. This will take place the weekend of Saturday 11 May as Harlequins Women face Leicester Tigers Women at The Stoop.

The Club will also be partnering with Level Playing Field for the second consecutive year with the collective objective to welcome disabled sports fans, their friends and family to The Stoop to experience a typical Harlequins matchday.
