West End Farm Stud is a small business run by mother Jo Milnes and Daughter, Charlotte Jelfs and was an SBS winner in September 2023.
Based in East Yorkshire they have been breeding quality horses aimed at the amateur market for a number of years and currently stand 2 stallions available to outside mares.
A grant was secured through East Yorkshire Business Support to improve the facilities to become a centre for AI and breeding (Artificial Insemination) for the area opening up to walk in stallions for semen collection and also provide a foaling service.
The grant was agreed to help fund laboratory equipment, rubber matting around the mare examination area and stallion collection area and a purpose designed dummy mare for stallion collections.
This has upgraded the facilities and is proving popular with people breeding horses in the area.
