Stroud-based Christina Macnamara has launched a coaching business after she was forced to close her retreat business in 2020.
Christina was running a successful retreat centre in Stroud until the pandemic hit. When this side of the business dried up virtually overnight, it was time to change her approach.
As a coach who previously had a marketing consultancy business, Christina decided this was the perfect time to help people follow their passions and take the leap to set up their own businesses.
Whilst the cancellation of all planned retreats has been a big challenge for Christina, it also presented an unexpected opportunity as she now offers group coaching and 1:1 sessions to help people get clear on their passion and purpose.
Christina says: “Lots of people realised in 2020 that life is too short to continue with work that doesn’t feel right, but they’re not sure where to start with creating something better.
“Many people lost work, and others have realised the potential freedom that running their own business can give them.
“It may seem like an unusual time to focus on launching your own business, but in fact this is the perfect time for small-scale, solo entrepreneurs to do what they love and sell their products and services online.
“I’m now on a mission to help people align their passion in life with their passion in business which unlocks success.
“On a personal level, my coaching is now bringing in the creative, in-depth approach that I was offering in my retreats but combining this with my experience in entrepreneurship and strategic marketing. It really feels like ‘me’. I’m now working with people who are ready to make this important transition towards more independence and freedom in their work.”
