A string of international contract wins has helped a Birmingham performance marketing agency achieve its best-ever year.
SHC Digital, which is based in the Assay Studios in the city, has seen revenues increase to £900,000 – a 20% annual rise that has been driven by demand for ‘highly impactful native’ content.
The company’s expansion has also been fuelled by overseas opportunities, with briefs delivered for Rak Central Square in UAE and European airport transfer specialist Flibco.
Working in partnership with local firm One Black Bear, it is delivering a paid social, display and digital campaign for the latter, which is building awareness and driving bookings in key markets, including Belgium, France and Italy.
“The last twelve months has shown how a dynamic Birmingham agency can compete on the global stage, taking our unique creativity and marketing understanding and turning into commercial benefits for our growing client base,” explained Sally Hawkesford, who founded the agency in 2019.
“This has translated it into a record year, with turnover touching just shy of £900,000. As well as the contracts in the Middle East and Europe, we have also won exciting briefs closer to home, delivering projects for the West Midlands Growth Company, Kings College London and Colmore Bid.”
She went on to add: “One of the biggest changes we’ve made is pivoting our content production to focus on delivering highly impactful native content at scale that is shot, edited and turned around quickly and deployed into paid campaigns across Meta, Google and TikTok. It’s an approach that is generating maximum impact for our clients.”
SHC Digital, which employs nine highly skilled team members, has completed a senior promotion to help manage the recent and ongoing expansion.
Amy Eddy is a dynamic marketing professional with more than 25 years’ experience across a range of industry sectors and leading agencies, including Inspired Thinking Group and McCann.
She joined Sally three years ago and has impressed with her knowledge of performance marketing and her commercial mindset helping to focus on growth and making the most of new opportunities.
This has led to her becoming Managing Partner, responsible for supporting employees and putting in place the foundations for future expansion.
Amy continued: “We seem to have a real sweet spot in the market at the moment, and it will be my role to work with the Senior Leadership Team to explore how we maximise this and the emergence of AI to move us past the £1m revenue barrier in 2027.
“I’m very passionate about Birmingham and what the wider UK has to offer when it comes to the creative, digital and marketing scene. A lot of our recent wins have come in partnership with other agencies, like One Black Bear and Wordsearch, who bring different skillsets and experience to what we offer.”
She concluded: “SHC Digital is continuing to expand internationally and are actively involved in pitches for work across Albania, the Middle East and Saudia Arabia, not to mention forging relationships with new media partners across Reddit, Chat GPT and ITV’s latest on demand lead generation formats.”
