Five flavours. Zero hints. Mr Fish launches Dare To Dip: The Blind Taste Challenge

Queen’s Park institution Mr Fish is shaking up its menu, and it’s bringing the neighbourhood along for the culinary ride!

Founded in 1994 by Shafiq Jivraj, Mr Fish has been a beloved staple of the Queen’s Park community for three decades. What began as a trusty fish and chip shop has grown into a local dining establishment known for its unwavering commitment to quality, tradition, and the occasional bold move.

This June, Mr Fish will be launching five new sauces across their wings, chicken tenders and homemade nuggets menu, each developed with the same care and community spirit that has kept locals coming back for 30 years.

To celebrate, Mr. Fish is hosting Dare to Dip: The Blind Taste Challenge on 18 June, an exclusive event bringing together long-time customers, press and influencers to put their taste buds to the test.

Guests will sample all five flavours blind, with no labels, no hints and no cheating. Who will take the title of ultimate sauce detective? That’s for the community to decide.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. Following the launch event, the Blind Taste Challenge will be opening its doors to everyone to give their best shot. Full details to follow.

Shafiq Jivraj, Founder of Mr. Fish said: “We’ve spent 32 years listening to this community and cooking for them. These new sauces – across our wings, tenders and nuggets – are the result of that. We wanted flavours that feel bold and exciting but still feel like us. Queens Park is where we started and where our heart is, but this event is about welcoming everyone in and celebrating what we’ve built together.!”

Dare to Dip: The Blind Taste Challenge will take place on 18 June 2026 at Mr. Fish, on an invite-only basis.
