Coronavirus has rapidly taken over internationally. And because of this, many countries are facing lockdown whilst the virus starts to dissipate. Due to this quarantine period, more and more people are planning what they will do when they are finally allowed to travel again.
Although it might feel as though this prospect is years away, it’s good to remain positive and think about how great it will feel when this is once again allowed. Alongside looking at eco-friendly travel options to use when the lockdown is lifted, you might also consider the following outdoor activities:
Plan a Walking Holiday
During this time, people are missing the prospect of going on long walks throughout the countryside. Even though one form of exercise is technically allowed each day, at the moment, a full-on walking holiday in a beautiful setting is not permitted.
So once the lockdown has been lifted, why not plan a trip when you can go hiking throughout some of the national parks. Whether it’s in this country or abroad, you’ll feel as though a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders the moment that you arrive in one of these breath-taking destinations.
Try Your Hand at Water Sports
Whether you’ve never experienced water sports before or you’re an old hand at them, once quarantine is over, why not get out into the water and enjoy them? No matter if it’s white water rafting, parasailing, jet skiing or kayaking, it’s a wonderful activity to enjoy by yourself or with your family.
Just make sure that you either book one of these activities with an experienced provider or if you’re qualified, you have the right equipment yourself for it. For example, you’ll need to know what to look out for when choosing the right paddles for your kayak.
Go Paintballing with Your Friends
Paintball has been around since the mid-1960s. An exhilarating activity to enjoy with your friends, it can be done throughout the year. With so many places around the country to enjoy this sport (each with their own unique themes), everyone can try their hand at it. It’s also a budget-friendly outdoor activity that’s ideal for a special occasion, whether that be a birthday or stag party.
Enjoy a Thrilling Day Out with Go Karting
Although some of these centres are inside, there are certain go karting parks that have outdoor sections – both in this country and abroad. An activity that can be enjoyed by those aged 8 up, it’s competitive and thrilling. The perfect activity to let off some steam after being in lockdown, you can usually book for either one hour or two depending on the centre.
Visit a Vineyard
If you’re looking for a more romantic outdoor activity, then why not head to a vineyard for a wine tasting when they are open again. A wonderful day out, it gives you the opportunity to learn about the various wine varieties whilst getting to taste them and socialise with others on the tour.
