Dudley accountants expand to meet changing client requirements

Lewis Smith & Co, Chartered Certified Accountants in Dudley, have this week opened a new dedicated bookkeeping and management accounts department to meet with the ever changing needs of their clients.

Director Andrew Smith said ‘Throughout 2019 we saw a huge increase in demand from businesses needing solid reliable bookkeeping and management accounting.  This has been driven in a great part by the introduction of HMRC’s MTD regime and also the increasing need for small businesses to modernise, automate and adopt the ever growing array of technological financial packages on the market today.  To respond to this, we took the step of setting up a department, outside of our normal accounts team, to work exclusively in this area.  What we now have on offer is a dedicated team who can help and support our clients, leaving them the time they need to get on with running their businesses.’

To open the department they recruited two new team members in 2020, taking the practice to a team of 18.  ‘We have been in Dudley for the last 30 years; we have the benefit of years of experience and are excited to continually embrace the changes in the accounting industry.  In 2019 we recruited  two new managers and another apprentice.  Already having a payroll team, we understand how important it is for our clients to get the full service, right from the basic record keeping, through to strategic business planning and advice.’
