Festive cakes in the form of trains, letterboxes, cartoon characters and more have been donated to help a hospice raise funds for its care.
St Richard’s Hospice received 29 decorated Christmas cakes made by the Wychavon branch of the British Sugarcraft Guild, which meets in Droitwich.
Each intricately crafted cake will be auctioned, raffled or sold to raise funds for the Worcestershire charity.
Ann Newton, Chairperson of the Guild, said: “St Richard’s Hospice is such an incredibly good cause and the guild members love to support it.
“Unfortunately, some of us have been touched by the hospice’s work and we really appreciate all the good work it does.
“We just want to carry on supporting St Richard’s and raising some money towards continuing its care.”
The guild has donated iced cakes to St Richard’s every Christmas for 17 years and in that time has helped raise a fantastic amount for its care.
Last year, more than £3,600 was raised from cakes being raffled, sold and auctioned for the hospice.
Ria Simons, a Hospice Fundraiser, said: “Each year we look forward to these incredible cakes arriving at the hospice – it’s always so exciting to see what the group has created.
“We are so grateful to the guild members for putting so much time, energy and creativity into supporting us year-on-year.
“Without the work of people like these, we couldn’t continue to fund our free care and support to patients, loved ones and bereaved people. Thank you!”

St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days. It also supports their loved ones.
Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,400 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.
St Richard’s is an independent charity and relies on donations and gifts in Wills for the majority of its income with 22% funded by the NHS.
The hospice is also raising funds for the Build 2020 Appeal and is part way through developing a bigger hospice, enabling more patients and families to be cared for in Worcestershire. The total cost for expanding and redeveloping the existing building in Wildwood Drive, Worcester, is £5.3m.
