Digital marketing agency makes record-breaking revenue for sportswear brand

The founder of one of the UK’s leading sportswear companies has paid tribute to a Derby digital marketing agency that has helped drive a record breaking £1m of Google ads revenue for the firm this year.

Dean Jackson, who owns HUUB, a world leader in wetsuits and triathlon and cycle clothing, has praised Alphageek Digital for its ‘best ever’ Google Ads campaign.

The agency, which is based in Century House, in St James’ Court, created a campaign that led to   £1m of sales for the firm, following a spend of £75,500 – giving a 1,200% return on the investment.

The previous year sales were £160,000 less – against a higher spend of £96,000 – making 2023 a record year in direct-to-consumer sales for HUUB.

Dean said: “This year has been massive for HUUB and I have to credit the team at Alphageek for their brilliant results, particularly against the current economic backdrop where luxury and lifestyle  items are not a priority for anyone.

“Not only has Alphageek’s Google Ad campaign led to record revenue, we are having our best November on record and we’re expecting our Black Friday sales to be record breaking too.

“It’s thanks to their expertise and support, but also because we are all able to sit down around a table together. They are reactive and flexible and they have become an extensive of the HUUB family.”

HUUB is one of a number of national and international clients for Alphageek which also works with Casio, G-Shock, Project D and Do Not Age.

The agency, which has collected a string of awards in the last three years, was founded by friends Art Lindop, Alex Mills and Kieran Flynn who now employ a team of 20 staff.

Google Ads is just one service offered by the company which also specialises in social media advertising, web design and development, content creation and brand amplification services.

Wayne Cross, who is head of commercial and strategy for the agency and the mastermind behind HUUB’s Google Ads strategy, said: “I have been working with HUUB for three years and have a fantastic understanding of their brand, which makes me an extension of their marketing team and part of the company. It’s because I’ve been able to build a brilliant relationship with them that we’ve secured these results.

“I understand the industry, know their products and I’ve been able to use this knowledge to optimise and refine their ad performance and relevancy to ensure they maximise every penny spent on Google Ads to ensure they get an excellent return on their investment.

“HUUB has staged a few really good sales this year, which have been brilliant attention grabbers, but we still needed to capture their search terms successfully.

“At the start of 2023 I told Dean that I wanted to hit £1m this year and we’ve comfortably managed that, in fact we’re looking at £1.1m by the end of the year. It’s a campaign Alphageek is really proud of.”
