Over 25 finance directors attended the event at the Stoke-on-Trent Moat House Hotel, hosted by Fiona Hawkins, Managing Director of award-winning integrated marketing agency, Plinkfizz.

Fiona shared real life case studies, research and tools of the trade to help businesses transform their strategic marketing activity in today’s digital age.

She discussed how much businesses should invest in marketing, highlighted the areas that businesses could focus on and explained how organisations can deliver a return on investment from their marketing budget.

Senior finance figures from companies including Phoenix Cellular, Don-Bur Ltd and Langley Alloys Ltd all attended the breakfast event.

The quarterly seminar, which has grown considerably since it was first launched, is relevant for all businesses ranging from dynamic Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) with ambitious plans for growth to Public Limited Companies (plc’s).

Julia Peat, Business Development Manager at Dains, Stoke, co-ordinates the FD forums.

Julia said: “We were pleased to host our first FD Forum of the new year which was well attended by senior finance figures from a variety of businesses across Staffordshire and beyond.

“We are very grateful to Fiona for giving up her time to speak to the group and provide some valuable tips and advice to help businesses strengthen their marketing functions.

“I’d also like to thank everyone who continues to support our forums and hope that people attending for the first time found the seminar informative.”

Attendees enjoyed refreshments on arrival at the event which took place in the Earl of Granville suite at the Moat House Hotel.

Fiona Hawkins said: “It was a pleasure to host the FD Forum, share ideas with businesses and give finance professionals food for thought about their marketing strategies and digital activity.

“As a marketing agency in Staffordshire we have worked with many local companies to help them gain tangible results from their marketing investment, so it was a great to deliver this forum at the heart of the Staffordshire business community.”

The next FD forum will take place at the Moat House Hotel, Stoke-on-Trent on Thursday 2nd April, 2020.
