Leading Nottingham law firm Nelsons has started the year by renewing its longstanding season sponsorship of the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall for the fifth consecutive time.

The firm, based in Pennine House, Stanford Street, has supported the venue, in Theatre Square, for five consecutive three-year periods, which started in 2005 – making 2020 the 15th year of the partnership.

Peter Ireson, Venue Director of the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall, said: “Nelsons is one of our longest standing and most generous sponsors. Its continued partnership with us has been vital in supporting our work over the last 15 years.”

In recent years, the sponsorship has contributed towards the theatre’s extensive remodel of the foyer area and towards making the venue more accessible for people with disabilities – and the complex has equally big ambitions for the coming years.

The latest funding boost will contribute to a whole host of activity and improvements, from delivering a wide range of creative learning activities for all generations to making the building more sustainable into the future.

Stewart Vandermark, Chief Executive at Nelsons, which also has offices in Leicester and Derby, added: “We’re extremely proud to be able to continue to support the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall for another term. Our relationship with the theatre is a longstanding one, which has flourished over the years.

“Nottingham is an incredibly exciting city when it comes to the arts, and the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall is leading the way when it comes to its offering of ground-breaking performances.”

Peter added: “As we begin a new decade, it’s an incredibly exciting time for us here at the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall. We aim to take our business from strength to strength while safeguarding both venues for future generations to enjoy. I look forward to continuing our significant and enduring partnership with Nelsons in the years ahead.”
