Cowgills raises £59,000 for charity to celebrate 40 years in business

Cowgills, one of the North West’s leading independent accountants and business advisors, has raised £59,000 for charity to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The firm set out to raise £40,000 at the beginning of 2023 and has surpassed that by almost £20,000.

Paul Stringer, managing partner at Cowgills, said: “We have always been invested in supporting our community, but, as part of our birthday celebrations we wanted to commit to raising a large amount to help projects across the North West.

Fundraising efforts have supported 12 charities across Bolton, Manchester and Liverpool.  Some of the highlights have included: charity golf days for Endeavour and Fortalice – two Bolton based domestic abuse charities, Endure24 – a 24-hour relay race undertaken by 10 members of staff who raised £11k for St Mary’s Hospital Charity in Manchester and the Alzheimer’s Association, and Dragon Boat racing in Liverpool for Clatterbridge Cancer charity.

Paul added: “All charities were chosen by Cowgills colleagues, with fundraising activities led by individuals across the firm.

“We wouldn’t have been able to raise such an impressive amount without the hard work and determination of our team and we’d like to congratulate everyone on this incredible achievement.”

Cowgills has most recently formed a partnership with Bolton Wanderers in the Community, a local charity that uses the power of Bolton Wanderers Football Club to deliver positive change. Cowgills will be working with the charity – backed by the EFL – to help educate and upskill young people in the local area who require additional support.

Closing out a successful year, the firm recently took 10,000 sq. ft of space on the top floor of the Parklands development in Middlebrook, Bolton, for their new headquarters. This follows on from a move to Bruntwood’s Grade II listed Cotton Exchange in Liverpool, and the Annex building in Manchester city centre earlier last year.
