Coventry community project receives boost from Amazon team

Coventry Open Christmas has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon team in the city.

The charity received the donation as part of the “Amazon In The Community” programme whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Coventry Open Christmas is a voluntary organisation that provides shelter and food to the homeless and lonely over the Christmas holiday.

To mark the donation, the Amazon Coventry team visited Queens Road Baptist Church to help the Coventry Open Christmas volunteers package food parcels.

Speaking on the donation, Adam Banks, Site Leader at Amazon Coventry, said: “We are proud to support such a brilliant charity within our community. The work Coventry Open Christmas does to help people across the city is very commendable and we hope this donation helps the team continue its great work this Christmas.”

Matt Scott from Coventry Open Christmas added: “I want to say a huge thank you to the team from Amazon in Coventry for this generous donation and for helping to sort our food parcels. It’s encouraging to have support from a business like Amazon. This donation will go a long way to help our city’s most vulnerable.”
