A free, one day Christmas Craft Fair is coming to Derby in December – thanks to the St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District (BID).
The event takes place on Saturday, December 14, and will be held in St Peter’s Church on St Peter’s Street in Derby.
More than a dozen local crafters and artists will bring their unique gifts to the city so shoppers can pick up presents for their friends and family. The market opens at 11am and runs until 4pm and entry is free.
Among the talented stallholders, visitors can explore artisan baked goods by The Pickled Nugget Bakehouse from Ashbourne, browse bespoke handcrafted jewellery from Ems Genuine Gems, pick up colourful novelty gifts by local community artist Love Lalaland, and enjoy artwork and cards by Derby-based Artist Tom Burley. This mix of local artisans offers a range of one-of-a-kind presents for friends and family this Christmas.
The craft fair forms part of a series of Christmas entertainment planned by the St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District. On the same day, look out for a novelty Christmas characters as they wander around the St Peters Quarter. You can also pose for pictures with them on Saturday, November 30 and Saturday, December 21.
On Saturday, December 21, a huge snow globe will be positioned at St Peter’s Cross for visitors to enjoy. Jump in and capture the perfect Christmas photo. It will be set up from 11am to 4pm, and entry is free.
Gemma Pindard, BID Project Executive for St Peters Quarter, said: “There are such a lot of talented crafters here in our city that it was a pleasure to organise this event to showcase their work. Bringing local makers together, under one roof, to show off their gifts and crafts will certainly help to get us all in the Christmas spirit.”
