Canvas Offices appoints Daytrip Studio to lead Interior Design for new flagship site

Fast-growing flexible office space provider, Canvas Offices, has appointed London based design studio, Daytrip, as the lead interior designer for its new flagship site, 88 Kingsway.

A 35,000 SQ FT space located above Holborn Tube Station, 88 Kingsway is an ornate Victorian building, which was acquired by Israeli real estate giant, Hagag-Gaya Holdings, in 2021.

Having agreed to develop the site in conjunction with Hagag-Gaya Group, Canvas now plans to transform the space into an authentic and modern work environment through an extensive refurbishment project – culminating in the launch of a vibrant and inspiring space which effectively blurs the lines between home and work across Seven floors of commercial real estate.

Founded by Emily Potter and Iwan Halstead, Daytrip has built an impressive reputation for creating considered and recognisable spaces, through its intelligent use of materials, attention to detail and awareness of style.

In being appointed by Canvas, Daytrip has already developed a unique ‘club style’ concept for 88 Kingsway, which leverages the building’s original features while playing homage to interventions made by renowned 1920’s modernist Architect Charles Holden. A unique feature is an oversized Holbern underground sign which dominates the co-working lounge window.

Emily Potter, Co-Founder and Director of Daytrip confirmed: “88 Kingsway is an impressive building with a long standing history in the London landscape, in an earlier heyday it housed the British Electrical Federation. There is incredible potential to upgrade it to become contemporary and vibrant workspaces. The team and I are already excited by the initial design concepts that we have developed and now looking forward to transforming our ideas into reality over the coming months.”

Yaron Rosenblum, Co-Founder and CEO of Canvas Offices, added: “The Canvas team and I are delighted to have Emily and the Daytrip Studio on board. Not only do they have a proven and incredibly impressive track record in architecture and interior design, but from our initial meetings it’s clear that they are genuinely passionate about 88 Kingsway and will play a fundamental role in establishing our Flagship site. I can’t wait to see their ideas come to fruition over the coming months and to ultimately open the doors of 88 Kingsway in spring 2024.”

Established in 2018, Canvas has successfully doubled the size of its portfolio within the last 9 months alone, now boasting 15 sites of prime commercial real estate throughout leading London locations, including Shoreditch, Farringdon, and Mayfair to name a few; with two additional sites currently under negotiation.
